I love the restriction of analogue photography - every shot counts!
In this increasingly digital world, there is something beautiful about reverting to tradition methods. I'm particularly found of black & white film. Why so? Because everything about the images below are purely my own. No instant playback. No gimmicks. No filters. Just a 35mm Pentax K1000 with manual shutter speed, aperture and ISO features. Shot, processed and enlarged by yours truly.
There is no better feeling than watching your work come to life! Be it the initial shooting of the film, hoping nothing goes wrong during processing, carefully adjusting your settings when enlarging, or watching your photography appear in front of your eyes within the chemicals. I just adore the darkroom because of the ownership it provides. I get an enormous sense of pride when taking my images from film to print.
I'm always intrigued by each photographer's 'eye'. I personally get drawn to line, light and shadow.
